Kantha Work
Kantha sarees come from West Bengal, India. It is one of the oldest forms of embroidery practiced in Bangladeh and West Bengal, practised by rural women to adorn women's shawls and covers for mirrors and pillow covers but most popularly used to make Kantha Silk Sarees.

It consists of simple running stitches and creations are rather laborious and time consuming. The design draws inspiration from day to day activities, animals and flowers resulting in a beautiful mesh of design. Kantha sarees have gained popularity for being worn in religious ceremonies and pujas and auspicious occasions like wedding and child birth.

Chikankari (चिकन की कढ़ाई)
Chikan (Urdu: چکن کاری, Hindi: चिकन की कढ़ाई, चिकनकारी) is a traditional embroidery style from Lucknow, India. It is one of Lucknow's best known textile decoration styles. Chikan is a delicate and artfully done hand embroidery on a variety of textile fabric like silk, chiffon etc. Nowadays chikan embroidery is also done with coloured and silk threads in colours to meet the fashion trends and keep chikankari up-to-date.

Chikan work in the recent times has adapted additional embellishments like Mukaish, Kamdani, Badla, sequin, bead and mirror work, giving it a rich look. Chikan embroidery is mostly done on fabrics like cotton, semi-Georgette, pure Georgette, chiffon, silk and any other fabric which is light and which highlights the embroidery.

The Brihaspatees Creations collection of Chikakari dresses are hand picked by founder who hails from Lucknow .

Kathiawari
Mirrors and bright colors are the specialty of Kathiawar Embroidery originating from Gujarat. Satin and khaddar are the mostly widely used fabrics.

The base fabric is usually colored in blue, yellow, red, white, turquoise or green. Silk floss and colorful cotton threads are used for the embroidery. It even contains appliqué and beadworks in the items meant for daily use.
Cloths exhibiting the Kathiawar embroidery are used on wall panels, bags, jackets, ‘cholis’ (traditional blouses) and ‘ghagras’ (traditional skirts).

Dhakai Jamdani
The name Jamdani is of Persian origin and is strongly suggestive of Mughal influence. It is a compound word wherein “jam” means flower and “dani” means vase. The name is suggestive of the beautiful floral motifs that adorn these gorgeous sarees. The Bengali version of the name, Dhakai, comes from the place of its origin, Dhaka in Bangladesh. Interestingly, the earliest mention of Jamdani sarees can be found in Chanakya’s Arthashastra, dating back to the 3rd century BC! The book refers to it as some fine cloth from “Bangla” and “Pundra” region.

The late 19th century saw the Anglicization of rooted Indian concepts and consequently,

Though Jamdani has enjoyed immense popularity right from the beginning, the art form bloomed during the Mughal period.
